I refuse to throw away my SAS c compiler and manuals, even though my Amiga died many years ago. I still occaisionally look through my Amiga manuals too. Yes, I'm very sad, I know, but I loved my Amiga <sniff>

I must admit to a bit of nostalgia for the old Amigas myself. I recall the amazing rush of playing some sort of a flight sim game on one (Amiga had hard-wired graphics then, while your average Intel box had to dink around calculating even the most basic aspects of the stuff), and wondering why the hell anybody would ever dirty their hands with a PC once they tried one of these things. Then, marketing forces took over...

I had a lot of firsts with Amiga software. Do you remember the Fred Fish disks and the AmigaDos Replacement Project? Free and open software, fantastic. Also I used to have a floppy with Minix on it, I think the full version with source would have cost £70. Half the cost of my SAS compiler at the time. Sadly, I wasn't foresighted enough to buy it. C'est la vie.

Just to add some more nostalgia round this thread ;) While the Amiga was one of the more popular computers at the time I had an Atari ST... Not a bad little games playing computer as I recall.
Didn't do much programming though - Just games playing. ;)
